Taking Jesus' name in vain
by IseFire - Tue 03/30/04; 7:59 pm EST

Reuters caption to this Jim Bourg photo: Gay marriage opponent John Willett (R) of Lawrence, Massachusetts repeatedly screams the single word 'Jesus' at protesters supporting same-sex marriage rights (L).

Using Jesus' name to taunt, cajole, abuse, browbeat; casting it like a verbal stone. How Christ-like. Jesus would be so proud of Mr. Willett! Just ask Mr. Willett!

Jesus....Western civilization's most famous single man. Let's examine His own words on matters related to "gay marriage."

Just what did Jesus say about homosexuality?
The same thing he said about blond hair, kitty cats, and ear wax, by the way. He said, "_____."

Just what did Jesus say about marriage?

He said, "For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it." (Matthew 19:12).

Smack-down!
by IseFire - Sun 03/28/04; 7:42 am EST

The Guardian reviews Richard Clarke's Against All Enemies today. Here's the first paragraph of the review: On 20 January 2001, George W Bush swore the oath of office as the 43rd President of the US. He vowed, as per tradition, to support and defend the constitution 'against all enemies, foreign and domestic'. He has certainly acquired millions of both. Among the most dangerous in the many categories of foe are people who worked for him who now want to tell their story.

Former GOP Guv lashes out against what the GOP has become
by IseFire - Sat 03/27/04; 9:02 am EST

Russell W. Peterson former Guv of DE has written a book calling the members of Club Shrub..."evil." [Excerpt from Denver Post article] "I think what they're doing is evil," Peterson said heatedly in a telephone interview from his home in Delaware. "It's absolutely painful. My country is being ruined by those characters."
.....
"I was a moderate Republican for 40 years and proud of it," says Peterson, 87, citing impeccable corporate and GOP credentials: DuPont Co. researcher and executive for 26 years; former Republican governor with a Republican-controlled administration; head of the President's Council on Environmental Quality for Republican Presidents Nixon and Ford.

Misleader-wise
by IseFire - Fri 03/26/04; 5:59 am EST

There's so much evidence of Bush's failure to give due diligence to pre-9/11 counter-terrorism, that it's frankly difficult to summarize it all. Here's a good recent attempt on Misleader--not even 400 words long, but convincing. Check out their New York Times ad, too.

Kerry leads Bush in poll
by IseFire - Thurs 03/25/04; 9:46 am EST

The latest Rasmussen poll has Kerry leading Bush -- 47% to 44%. But the poll doesn't include Nader by name, only "some other candidate." Conventional wisdom is that when Nader is also included in polls by name, it brings Kerry down at least 2%.

This new Kerry web ad is cute. Kerry topples King George II.
