E-PAMPHLET
#6
Bush and the unelected “Prime Minister” of Iraq, Iyad Allawi, are misleading America about how big the mess is in Iraq.
DID YOU KNOW?
There are 70 attacks a day on U.S. forces in Iraq? There were “only” 40-50 attacks per day a few months ago.
But Bush told America in a recent speech that there were just a “handful” of insurgents.
(I think that’s called misleading.) More info here.
There has been an average of 22 attacks per day on our troops in Baghdad.
But Allawi has just told Congress that Baghdad was "very good and safe."
(I think that’s called a lie.)
Pentagon documents show only 8,169 Iraqi policemen have had the full eight-week academy training and 46,176 are officially completely "untrained."
But Bush told America in his recent speech that 100,000 Iraqi police were fully ready.
(I think that’s also called a lie.)
Pentagon documents estimate that only 22,700 Iraqi national guardsmen have received enough basic training to make them "minimally effective at their tasks."
But Bush said just days ago that 100,000 were guardsmen were "fully trained and equipped! “
(In Iowa, where I’m from, we call that malarkey. Also known as a lie.) More info here.
Here’s more Bush doesn’t tell us:
More Iraqi civilians have been killed by US and Iraqi police actions than by insurgent strikes…at a rate of almost 2 to 1!
Bush wants us to believe we alone can win the hearts and minds of Iraqis, without following John Kerry’s plan to get international help with the Iraq situation. More here.
$232 million in Iraqi funds were set aside for the Iraqi electoral commission,
but it has received a mere $7 million, according to House Appropriations Committee staff.
Iraqi national guardsmen are fleeing their units or even joining the resistance in huge numbers.
But Bush has said that things are going just fine with readying the Iraqi national guard.
Moqtada Sadr’s anti-US militia had only a few hundred young men with guns at the beginning of our occupation,
but today Sadr’s militia has thousands of members and an arsenal that includes mortars and rocket-propelled grenades? More info here.
Keep forwarding this e-pamphlet so people will remember when they vote on November 2nd what Bush’s leadership as wrought!
